HOW TO INSTALL FOR VRCHAT:

Don't worry, it might sound daunting but you'll get the hang of this super quick! I've included a super simple guide below with pictures of every step of the process to help you - Jasper.

1) Download and install Unity 2019.4.31f1 from https://unity3d.com/get-unity/download/archive (Note: it must be 2019.4.31f1 as the VRChat SDK does not work with other versions). Alternatively, you can download Unity Hub and install that specific version from the hub.

2) Go to https://vrchat.com/home/download and download SDK 3 - Avatars

3) [This step is for Unity Hub] Open Unity Hub and click "New Project" at the top right.

4) Select "3D Core" from the template list, and then give this project a name (I find it works best to name this after the version of the model you are using, for example "Jasper VRChat Community V14". You can choose any location you like. Click Create Project when done.

5) From the Unity Hub projects screen, open your new project by double clicking it.

6) Once the project is opened, on the top toolbar, click Assets -> Import Package -> Custom Package, and then navigate to the VRChat SDK file you downloaded in step 2), and select it.

7) On the Import Unity Package window that pops up, click "Import" at the bottom right.

8) Once the progress bar is completed, go back up to the top toolbar and once again click Assets -> Import Package -> Custom Package as you did in step 6), but this time navigate to and select the Jasper Unity Project that you received and once again on the Import Unity Package window, click "Import" at the bottom right.

9) Once the project has imported, a new folder called Jasper should appear in the asset browser at the bottom of the screen. Double click the folder and then double click on the name of the Jasper file you would like to compile for VRChat. Note: There are multiple versions of each model, including a barefoot version and a booted version.

10) Once you have opened the Jasper model you would like to compile (They should appear in the 3d viewport), navigate to the top toolbar and select VRChat SDK -> Show Control Panel. Once the panel opens, you'll be required to enter your VRChat login to access the SDK.

11) Once you've logged in, in the VRChat SDK control panel, click on Builder -> Build and Publish for Windows. Note that the SDK may 'freeze' here temporarily but this is totally normal. You should soon see a few progress bars. The whole process takes the longest when you are compiling a model for the first time, but should be much faster on subsequent compiles.

12) Fill in the details for Avatar Name and Description. If you are using the Community version of Jasper, be sure to tick the Content Warnings -> "Nudity/Sexuality".

Also PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make sure you only tick Sharing -> Private. Do not use Public.

If you wish to modify how the thumbnail image appears, select Scene at the top left as indicated by 5 in the picture below and adjust the camera in the 3d viewport accordingly. When you are done, select the "Game" tab which is just next to the "Scene" tab. If you just want to get the model up and running, feel free to skip this step and tick the agreement box and then click Upload.

NOTE: You may get an error saying "Error saving blueprint" after pressing upload. I'll cover this in the next step.

13) If you receive the error message: Error saving blueprint, once the upload has failed you should see the 3d viewport with Jasper in it. Click on him to select him once and select Detach [Optional] on the right. You might have to click on Jasper once or twice to get this to show up. Once this is done, go back to Step 10) and proceed from there.

14) You are done! Open VRChat and you should see the avatar now available in your avatar section.

Have fun and thank you so much for your support <3
